Message from the Superintendent

The Ontario-Montclair School District is looking for parents, OMSD teachers, OMSD support staff and community members from the Cities of Ontario and Montclair who may be interested in serving on the Ontario-Montclair School District (OMSD) Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Community Advisory Committee (CAC). 

The CAC must have representatives from a diverse group, including parents, special education and general education teachers, staff members and community members from the Ontario and Montclair communities.  The CAC will be established in accordance with EC 56190-56194.  One of the primary roles of the CAC is to advise the Superintendent and/or his designee(s) on special education programs and services. The CAC will also serve to represent our special needs students and their parents. It is expected that the CAC will meet at least five times during the school year. 

Individuals wishing to be considered for the OMSD SELPA CAC must submit an application to the District Office by 4:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016.  Applications are available on the District website, by calling the Learning & Teaching Division at (909) 418-6436 or by visiting the District Office at 950 West D Street, Ontario, CA  91762.

El Distrito Escolar Ontario-Montclair está buscando la participación de padres, maestros(as) de OMSD, personal de apoyo de OMSD y miembros de la comunidad de las Ciudades de Ontario y Montclair quienes deseen y estén interesados en brindar sus servicios en el Comité Consultivo de  la Comunidad (CAC) del Plan de Educación Especial del Área Local (SELPA) del Distrito Escolar Ontario-Montclair (OMSD).

El CAC debe estar conformado por un grupo diverso de representantes, incluyendo a los padres, maestros de educación general y especial, miembros del personal y miembros de la comunidad de Ontario y Montclair. El CAC se establecerá de acuerdo al Código de Educación 56190-56194. Una de las principales funciones del CAC es asesorar al Superintendente y/o su(s) delegado(s) sobre los programas y servicios de educación especial. Otras de las funciones del CAC será representar a nuestros estudiantes con necesidades especiales y a sus padres. Se anticipa que el CAC se reunirá al menos cinco veces durante el año escolar.

Las personas que deseen ser consideradas para formar parte del CAC del SELPA de OMSD deberán presentar una solicitud en la Oficina del Distrito a más tardar el viernes, 6 de mayo a las 4:30 pm. Las solicitudes también están disponibles en el sitio web del distrito, llamando al Departamento de Enseñanza y Aprendizaje al teléfono (909) 418-6436 o en la Oficina del Distrito ubicada en el 950 West D Street, Ontario, CA 91762.
